Woodstock Wedding, York

After numerous covid postponements Zoe & Kyle finally became Mrs and Mr back in September last year in the beautiful setting of Woodstock Weddings just outside York.

Woodstock Weddings & Events is a gorgeous venue and one I’ve had the privilege of photographing several times. It’s a beautifully converted barn with plenty indoor space and a large courtyard with water feature, a quirky cocktail bar and amazing panoramic views - perfect for your wedding photographer! Being so close to York centre it also makes travel plans easy for all the guests coming from across the country.

I first met Zoe when she was a bridesmaid for Anna, a bride of mine from way back in 2017 so it was really lovely to catch up with her and her fellow bridesmaids after all these years. She got ready at their house in York before they all made their way to Woodstock for the ceremony where Kyle was awaiting his bride-to-be. Kyle’s family live in Australia and unfortunately couldn’t fly out to be there so there was plenty face-timing happening throughout the day, they were definitely there in spirit and played a large part in the events including their pre-recorded speeches.

The ceremony took place in front of the huge glass side of the barn which made my job very easy indeed; big windows make me very happy and the natural light on the couple and all their lovely guests was to die for.

After the I do’s we had confetti, canapés and bubbly. The weather didn’t exactly work to our advantage and it rained on and off throughout the day (we are in Yorkshire after all!) but we managed to get outside for some lovely portraits during one of the dry spells before heading back inside for food and speeches. The celebrations continued into the wee hours with a live band who really brought the party and we danced the night away! Thanks so much to Zoe & Kyle for being so fabulous throughout the day. Thanks also to the staff at Woodstock Weddings for helping out and looking after me, I’m back there in the spring and already I can’t wait. What a fantastic York wedding!
