Rhianna & Matt’s beautiful June wedding took place last year in the Chapter Hall at Northern Monk Refectory in Leeds city centre. Rhianna and her bridesmaids got themselves ready at home before we all headed to the Civic Hall for their ceremony. They had chosen the Banquet Hall on the first floor where the big windows and natural light make for beautiful photos and a happy photographer indeed! The couple said their I Do’s in front of friends and family, Rhianna looked amazing in her beautiful dress and veil with accompanying bouquet of flowers while Matt was equally dashing in his burgundy corduroy suit. It was a gorgeous ceremony with two readings and afterwards we headed out onto the steps for a confetti tunnel and some family photos in the adjoining Millennium Square.
All the guests then headed through Leeds town to Northern Monk Refectory while I held Rhianna & Matt back for some city centre style portraits. There were plenty shouts of “congratulations!” from passers by as we made our way through the city streets, past the Leeds canal and down to the brewery. The Chapter Hall had been decorated by our couple and it looked just fabulous. Flowers and candles and bunting and fairy lights nestled among disco balls and childhood photos of the bride and groom which adorned the bar and really brought the venue to life (not to mention the giant inflatable Pass The Pigs game!)
Our guests had a delicious pizza buffet provided by Dukes Pizza before enjoying the hilarious and heartfelt speeches from both bride and groom, best men, maid of honour and both sets of parents. After we’d all recovered I took Rhianna & Matt outside while the golden hour light was just peaking beautifully for a couple of portraits, as well as a trip into the brewing room for a laugh amongst the industrial sized fermentation tanks.
We danced the night away to an amazing DJ, much Northern Monk beer was drunk, unsurprisingly, and I had an absolutely fabulous day. What a lovely bunch of human beings, thank you so much to Rhianna & Matt for having me along to document it. Also to the team at Northern Monk Refectory for putting on such a spectacular wedding and helping out all day long. See you very soon in Leeds for another one!
